First, she propagates the "Obama is a Muslim" double-smear last night on 60 Minutes using carefully parsed conditionals. Given the opportunity by Andrea Mitchell to revise her answer today, she passed.
Then today she thinks the Republican nominee would be a better commander-in-chief than her Democratic rival and likely Democratic nominee, Barack Obama.
I had always liked Hillary Clinton. That was until last week.
Hillary Clinton is right. She is "in it to win it." She is not running to serve the American people. It is a selfish quest for the Presidency - and she intends to do it at any cost.
In the highly unlikely event she becomes the Democratic nominee this year, I am voting for John McCain.

I 100% agree with this post, Mash. It’s not only Hillary that’s guilty of this behavior. It’s also the likes of Taylor Marsh, who will do anything to smear Barack Obama.
If Hillary wins, I’ll vote for Nader so I don’t have to vote for McCain.

Robbie, given the kind of attacks Hillary Clinton has launched, not only against Obama but against the majority of voters who have supported him, she is almost assured of losing in November (if she were to be the nominee). Voters dont like being insulted like she has insulted Obama supporters. There is no way she can possibly win the general election if Obama supporters stay home. Her campaign has been disgraceful.
If Obama becomes the nominee, she just handed John McCain a perfect soundbite for November. She did it deliberately. Now, that is real sad.

It seems that Clinton will throw the kitchen sink as well as the garage workshop and the swimming pool at Obama. If he survives all that, then he will be a stronger candidate for it. Surely the GOP attack machine will be no less virulent than the Clinton machine.

Jyoti, the problem of course is that Clinton is damaging the likely Democratic nominee with her attacks. Each of her attacks will be used by the Republicans in November in their ads. Its one thing Republicans criticizing the Democratic nominee, that is expected. But when they will play video of another Democrat saying Obama is a empty suit, the independents who will decide the fate of the election will be swayed. Clinton knows this. So, the question is why is she going so negative against her Democratic rival. She knows she wont be the nominee (she cant catch Obama in the delegate count), so the only thing I can think of is that she is setting herself up for 2012. To do that, she has to ensure that the Democrat loses in November.
