Shoe Journalism

President Bush successfully dodged two size 10 shoes thrown at him by an Iraqi journalist today. As far as I know, the journalist did not ask a followup question.

I come from a country that has a long tradition of taking the shoe to politicians. However, I have never seen shoe throwing taken international before. For a president who expected to be greeted with flowers and candy in the country he "liberated", this is clearly a sad turn of events.

kind of sums up his tenure doesn’t it? 🙂

I am impressed with Bush’s reflexes when the first shoe is thrown. Note that Maliki hardly moves.

By the time the second shoe is launched, Bush is ready. If only he had moved this fast after Hurricane Katrina.

I’m impressed with that Iraqi reporter. Can he throw a baseball? The San Diego Padres could use another starting pitcher besides Jake Peavy and Chris Young.

That was funny and fitting. Even the people we “liberated” think he’s as low as a dog.
