The Alaska Disasta

Sarah Palin will be dropping the puck this evening at the Philadelphia Flyers hockey game. She will be welcomed to the City of Brotherly Love with her very own hockey card.

Doggoneit, this promises to be fun. Will she get booed? You betcha!

Update:

Well, Governor "Hockey Mom" tried to mix politics with sports and the Philadelphia fans delivered with resounding boos:

When Sarah Palin dropped the ceremonial first puck at the Flyers’ opener on Saturday night at the Wachovia Center, she was greeted by resounding (almost deafening) boos. Ed Snider, owner of the Flyers, had her introduced to the crowd more as a hockey mom than as the Republican candidate for vice president. She was flanked by Scott Gomez, the Rangers center, and Mike Richards, the Flyers center.

While Philadelphia fans are known for not being shy about voicing disapproval, the question has been raised — including by me in an earlier version of this post — whether the appearance was appropriate at a sports event like this.

Mash, I recorded the game and I had fun watching that ceremonial faceoff. Especially when those fans pulled out those Obama/Biden signs from underneath their Flyers jerseys as she made her way toward center ice.

I have a screen cap up on my blog. Too bad the game wasn’t in HD. 🙁

Ingrid, I guess her latest photo-op didnt go well. She is much better at leading the hatefests at her rallies.

  5. Ingrid says:

well, she’s not very vice presidential if she can only handle her hate rally crowds. That remind me more of far rightwing extremists in Europe..preach to the choir and don’t move out of your comfort zone.. it’s a scaaary world out there..(and hockey rinks apparently are one of them..tss)
