2 days left…

…and the excitement and anticipation in this town is palpable. I have my warm clothes, the wool socks, the hat and gloves all ready for Tuesday. I’ve got my walking route planned for the 3 mile hike over the Potomac and onto the Mall. Let’s hope the weather has mercy on us and warms up a bit.

    Mash,

I am so envious of your proximity that allows you to participate in the inauguration! Regardless of party, regardless of perspectives and opinions this is one more occasion to celebrate the fundamental truth that though flawed, our system of government remains one that affords us so many opportunities.

Now, if we can just get those who govern to live up to their end of the bargain!

This is the fun part of living in (well, for you just outside) the/a capital. When I used to live in Ottawa, CA it was always fun on July 1st, Canada day. And me, miss..I don’t like crowds could actually handle the throngs and throngs of the thousands of people..[s]
I hope the weather lets off a bit..I expect a great report Mash, pics and all!!

red, I am just VERY glad Bush is leaving 🙂 Obama is coming in with impossible expectations. I hope he meets at least a few.

Ingrid, I was going to post directly here from my phone from the Mall but I will need to upgrade my WordPress software first to make that happen. My pics will have to wait until I get back home.
