[This post should be read while listening to Also Sprach Zarathustra, op. 30 by Richard Strauss]
The blog has been migrated to a dedicated server. If I did everything correctly things should work pretty much like before. You should notice faster page downloads during peak loads. Hopefully no one will receive a "Service Temporarily Unavailable" message anymore due to lack of capacity. I made one minor change to the comments to streamline page loading - I got rid of the avatars that used to accompany each comment. The avatars were slowing things down under heavy load so I decided to kill the avatars in favor of performance
Thanks everyone for your patience during the last few days while we experienced some growing pains.

Great choice of pic and music. Funny thing though, to play the music my Real Player shows the last thing I was listening to as it’s loading. How about “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath?

Zebster, I’ll save Sabbath for my next Bush massage clip
Robbie, you are missing the whole multimedia experience of this post. Next time I’ll work in 3-D glasses. :d
Ingrid, I am looking for a way to bring the avatars back. But the plugin I was using was really bogging down the page on the server side when there were a lot of comments. If I have time, I’ll write something myself.
Incidentally, nobody has answered the REAL question. Does anyone notice a performance improvement?!? :-ss

Sorry, yes…a fair bit.
I’ve got a blog in the back of my head that’s basically wrapped around the lyrics of “The Fletcher Memorial Home (for Incurable Tyrants and Kings),” if you know it.

Yeah, maybe the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Maybe I can manage that tomorrow while I watch and blog about the Brit Open.
Have you seen my less serious blog, All Things Zebster?

Thanks, Mash et al. I needed a dose of higher ideals. Wow. I liked the avatars, but hey, I can always use my imagination. I’m back in nursing school, and have no time to blog, but draw inspiration from sites such as this. Pardon my lurking.

Well, I put the blog about The Fletcher Memorial Home, though I cheated. Very little commentary and just let the lyrics tell the tale.
