You know, where I am from, the thugs who sometimes call themselves cops get their kicks the old fashioned way, they beat the crap out of you. In America, we like our justice high tech. But abuse of power is abuse of power, and thuggery is thuggery, even when its been dressed up with high technology.
So, when the hired muscle at UCLA decided that a student who did not have his ID card at the library needed to be tasered repeatedly in front of other students who were pleading for them to stop, it reminded me a little bit of the old country. The episode was captured by a student’s camera phone, and I am sure, by UCLA’s security cameras.
Oh, and it turns out that the student was Muslim.
UPDATE: Robbie has video of a local TV report. A student who was there backs up what we hear in the video – that other students were also threatened with being tasered when they asked the police for their badges. I wonder if the thugs should switch to wearing brown shirts to go along with their actions.

What really pisses me off is the fact that the victim told the officers that he had a medical condition and they used their Taser gun FIVE times! What if the victim had suffered serious injuries or death as a result of this attack? x(
Let me also take this time to tell CNN and Glenn Beck to kiss my brown a**. This is the kind of antisocial behavior idiots like him encourage and I’m tired of the hatemongering against all minorities.
I hope the officers involved are severely disciplined for their actions and thousands of UCLA student turn out for the upcoming protest.
I saw/heard the interview of the campus paper editor who confirmed that when a fellow student asked the officer for his badge number he told the student to stay out of it, or he would be tasered as well.
seriously, have you been repeatedly hit by the ole country thug lathee.. ok, i haven’t,but i have seen it on tv, taser doesn’t sound so bad comparatively.
i have a theory about rent a cops and people if thats what they were, or patrol cops in general. but i am too polite to say. thugs are thugs the world over i guess..
dude, I had the pleasure of being the recipient of a lathee charge when we stayed out past curfew one night. I think I and my two friends broke the 100 meter world record on the pavement at Farm Gate that night. This was under the peaceful reign of Generalissimo Ershad a while ago :(|)
I will say one thing about the thugs with badges in Bangladesh, they are well fed – so, they are a little slow on their feet. Thank heaven for small favors. o:-)
