So what is the big deal? It is so legal. Where was the “outrage” when the Clinton adm. fired ALL of the attorneys? also perfectly legal.

Lynne, the Bush admin also did the same thing, as did Bush 42, and Reagan. It is custom and practice to put in place new US attorneys when a new administration comes to power.
Now, allow me to explain to you the big deal. It IS unprecedented to fire 8 US attorneys for no cause in the middle of a term. However, that is still LEGAL, as you point out, even if it is unseemly.
But, if you FIRE US Attorneys in order to obstruct a federal corruption probe, then you are committing a crime - that is called OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE. The Attorney General should know that well enough.
There are PLENTY of indications that some these attorneys were fired to stymie ongoing investigations - THAT IS THE BIG DEAL.

oh, and if Al Gonzalies lied in front of Congress, under oath, that is called PERJURY. Today’s news suggests that might have occurred.
