Conceit

Joseph Lieberman loses primary but not his arrogance

"I could be well moved, if I were as you:
If I could pray to move, prayers would move me:
But I am constant as the northern star,
Of whose true-fix’d and resting quality
There is no fellow in the firmament.
The skies are painted with unnumber’d sparks,
They are all fire and every one doth shine,
But there’s but one in all doth hold his place:
So in the world; ’tis furnish’d well with men,
And men are flesh and blood, and apprehensive;
Yet in the number I do know but one
That unassailable holds on his rank,
Unshaked of motion: and that I am he"

I like TBogg’s take on it – obscene, kind of like Joe, but right to the point…

    🙂

  2. doro says:

I woke up this morning and my husband told me of Lamont’s victory. Suitable news to start a wedding anniversary day. Let’s hope and pray this is only the beginning of political change.

  3. Group Captain Mandrake says:

    Go Ned! Down with “right-lite”!

  4. cyberotter says:

Yay for Ned. I knew he had the joementum to get it done. First 9/11 post is up. Bring food and water, it could take a while to get through all of it.:d

  5. Mash says:

MHB, I think tbogg’s title says it all.

    doro, happy anniversary \:d/

I guess we now know who will replace Rummy at DOD.

    (cyberotter, you novelist!)

  6. James says:

Well, already the spin of the right-trash machine is churning. There is an article on Time.com, stating how the republicans are loving a Lieberman loss.

It goes on to state that, all Democrats can now be shown to be “defeato-crats” and are weak on defense and are all leftists..

But then again, these reporters are fuckwits and have little touch with reality.

  7. Isn’t that the Dad from Alf?

  8. doro says:

Mash, thanks for the good wishes, had nice dinner yesterday.

Here’s from “The Times”. I really liked the picture. The analysis is interesting of course.

  9. bharath says:

I am almost sure if Lieberman is not running as a republican, he cannot stand on his legs and say “look at me I am the true democrat eventhough no one in the party will support my candidacy”.

His best alternative is to run as republican supressing this “90% voted with democrats” like he needed a special spine to do *that* I think any democratic senator would have done *that* He stepped out of line on the key and defining issues for this generation.

  10. Mash says:

bharath, interestingly, Ken Mehlman last night on Hardball would not endorse the Republican candidate in Connecticut. I found that quite funny.
