A Discussion Across The Aisle

Since this blog is seeing so many visitors from both sides of the aisle, I wanted to switch the focus to a constructive debate on the pressing issues of the day. Please feel free to use this post or any other on this blog to post your thoughts. I will be happy to try to respond.

    Wow. Stupid much?

  2. jerry says:

I certainly hope that someone does post your private information.

And I can only hope that karma truly is a bitch.

You should be ashamed of yourself. That you are not indicates a deep illness on your part.

  3. jerry says:

Whoops, that was my email to Michelle. As for you Doc, just wanted to say that I have been much better since I stopped drinking fluoridated water.

  4. Mash says:

lol 🙂 And I thought this was another love letter from Michelle’s fans 🙂

  5. Catrina says:

Michelle Malkin is an Anchor Baby. Her mother came here on a Visa and stayed to birth Michelle in an American hospital…perhaps Malkin’s readers should be made aware of this.

She is no different than the El Salvadorians she lambasts daily – accusing them of taking over her hometown in Montgomery County, MD. Malkin lives in Germantown, MD which is becoming an MS-13 breeding ground…

  6. Brendt says:

Oh, the horror! Re-printing information that others (foolishly) disseminated freely! What a horrible person Malkin is!

  7. Mash says:

Brendt, that was the first intelligent comment from your side I’ve seen on my blog today. I appreciate the feedback. Much more refreshing than the two word sentences. Even though I disagree with you I hope to see more comments like yours.

  8. Catrina says:

Oh and don’t expect her to address any of this, kind of like the way she will not address any of this –

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/13/AR2006041301673.html

…yet she has so much to say about “The Milwaukee Five”. She is the Queen of the Double Standard and surprisingly her readers just keep on keepin’ on with the kegs of kool-aid and do not hold her accountable at all.

Unhinged Wingnuts? I would say so…how she sleeps at all is a wonder…she is unexceptionally cruel, and one of the “GOP Mean Girls” with the tall blonde and the one who recently returned from Iraq.

  9. Mash says:

Catrina, I am partial to Debbie Schlussel myself. She’s a winner in my books 🙂

  10. Catrina says:

Wise up Brendt and hold her accountable for her words…most of which are twisted, unbalanced, slanted and usually not true.

As a reader you should be ready willing and able to question an obviously demented Wingnut spin doctress…have some respect for yourself and your fellow Conservatives…

  11. Mash says:

Its easier to rant when you are not bound by the facts. No hope of wisening up.

  12. Catrina says:

Right. I do have more respect for Schlussel because she does hold them accountable and can sniff out the worse in the bunch…like the one who penned “How To Hate John Kerry For Dummies”…

    http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2006/03/other_conservat.html

    Or about this –

    http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2006/02/blabbermouth_an.html

Michelle would never write about any of this…after all, they are Conservative Rethugs…her cronies.

  13. unclesmrgol says:

You know, it’s pretty stupid to be registered at godaddy.com, which has a really strong anti mail abuse program, and to be pulling this mailbombingcrap. If Michelle discovers where you are hosted (she’s already complained to her mail hosting service) and complains to abuse@godaddy.com, you could lose your domain registration as well as any passthrough privileges from secureserver.net.

I’d cut it out RIGHT NOW if I were you. A domain name like docstrangelove.com is a terrible thing to waste.

  14. Eric says:

Malkin is extreme: that is true. In this instance, however, she has the right of it — no pun intended. Publishing a press release from the Santa Cruz guys is clearly fair game. And given the hate mail she has posted, is it any surprise she is angry?

Calling Malkin “not bound by facts” isn’t correct. Is she perfect? By no means. But she is closer to rationality than either the antiwar thugs at Santa Cruz or the nutjobs that emailed her. While I’m at it, any nutjob that threatened the Santa Cruz thugs is also a nutjob. How’s that for fair?

  15. Catrina says:

Hmmm…I guess there is just too much reality in my posts for this bunch…

  16. Catrina says:

Oh and I think unclesmrgol is probably her…she will sic Brian Maloney and that other one on you…LOL

  17. Catrina says:

Honey – the hate mail doesn’t anger her, it fuels her fire, she loves it. She wants to be in the limelight.

She was upset after skewering Eva Longoria, that Eva failed to mention her when she appeared as a guest on The View today…

It’s all about fame & fortune, these GOP Mean Girls all grew up on Madonna being praised by Reagan for God’s sakes…even though they will never admit it.

  18. Mash says:

unclesmrgol, I did no such thing. If people email her with their concerns on a public email that she provided, its not mail bombing. I didnt hold anyone’s hand to the mouse and click it for them. Everyone sent the emails on their own. There was no automated program, as a mailbomb suggests, readers at my site emailed Michelle Malking in protest. Get the facts before making such an accusation.

Oh, by the way, thanks for your feedback.

  19. Catrina says:

    unclesmrgol is her you know…

  20. Mash says:

Probably, but why would she comment anonymously. Doesn’t seem very sporting.

  21. Catrina says:

    Oh, she would…

  22. Mash says:

hmm…are you saying she’s not sporting? I am shocked!

  23. Catrina says:

The only thing she is sporting is bad attitude and misdirection…

  24. Hermy says:

This is hilarious. The only two people who care to comment on this nothing site are the blogger (sorry, SourMash, but who?), and some moonbat who is begging for a response to her idiotic nonsense.

Mash, good luck getting something going, but the Atrios thing has already been done, and you need some new people.

On to the issue: are you seriously criticizing Malkin for publishing these ninnies’ press release? Isn’t that what they wanted?

This always happens to you fringe lefties; someone lifts your wet rock, and you’re all shocked to find out that the other 98% of America thinks you’re nuts, and doesn’t like it when you insult our military.

Sorry, girls, there’s a law. It’s called the Solomon Amendment, and it dictates that schools which receive Federal funding will allow the military to recruit at their campuses. UCSC did not, and they are in violation of the law; pure and simple. IMAO, they should lose a year of funding, — no small issue at $80mm — the students who led this mess should all be expelled so they can concentrate full time on ANSWER protests, and the Chancellor should be fired, along with whomever else was responsible for crowd control.

  25. Catrina says:

And this comment would be from Jesse Malkin, the notorious Wingnut hubby-pooh with girly-man attitude…

  26. Michelle Malkin Nazi Whore says:

I’d like to get the contact info of Michelle Malkin’s family, so that I could post that and have people harass them just to see how Michelle Malkin likes that.

  27. Rezwan says:

    Thought it may be relevant.

Keith Olbermann awarded Michelle Malkin The “World’s Worst,” today for her posting private phone numbers from the student’s at UC Santa Cruz.

  28. agentcooper says:

The SAW press-team allowed their names and numbers to be published, yes, albeit to a different audience I’m sure. BUT Maulkin knew damn well what could if she reprinted the info (considering her audience and the subject). This reminds me somewhat of the story of one Neal Horsely. She better pray for their health and safety. Because if they are hurt as a result of this her excuse will sound as flimsy as Mr. Horsely’s did.

  29. Brendt says:

Rezwan said “posting private phone numbers”.

How are they “private” if the “victims” disseminated them of their own free will on a *public* press release?

  30. Brendt says:

agentcooper said “albeit to a different audience”.

Yeah, and those on one side of the political aisle have NEVER reproduced info that the other side of the aisle publicly distributed. How could they have possibly known that anyone except their intended audience would get their PUBLIC press release?

  31. Brendt says:

Catrina said, “Wise up Brendt and hold her accountable for her words”

Let’s see. There’s not even half a leg to stand on regarding the issue that’s being discussed, so let’s make a broad statement regarding Malkin’s overall credibility. Yeah, that’ll shut him up.

  32. usnjay says:

I think it’s obvious Mrs. Malkin knew (or should have known) posting the information would lead to a lot of calls to those numbers, some of which would be by hateful nutjobs.
It’s also obvious the protestors knew (or should have known) protesting military recruiters would garner a lot of attention, some of which would be by hateful nutjobs.

The other major parallel here is that the protestors are using physical force and verbal intimidation (they physically block the recruiters and chant loudly at/around them) to convey their message.

Now they are complaining b/c some people are using verbal threats of force at them.

This is hypocritical, to say the least.

  33. Mash says:

Hmm…Hermy is citing the Solomon Amendment.

Here is the problem. I am not arguing that the military should not be able to recruit on college campuses. I think they absolutely should and they also have the law on their side.

This is the classic “build up a strawman and then attack it” tactic. The issue here, Hermy, is that after knowing these kids where getting death threats she insisted on keeping those numbers up on her web site. It may be great red meat for her readers, but it is reckless.

Let’s discuss that instead of shifting the argument that I certainly am not engaging in.

  34. Brainster says:

Who’s standing up for the free flow of information? Not the SAW folks, who interfered with other college students’ right to learn more about the military.

If you make the argument that Malkin should not have posted the information which was easily available, would it have been appropriate to post a link to their press release? Where do you draw the line?

  35. Mash says:

Brainster, the press release is fine. She probably should have taken out the phone numbers after the uproar. Not doing so, and in a defiant way, is not good judgment. Taking the phone numbers down does not in any way hamper the free flow of information.

I hope that is a simple point we can all agree on.

  36. Brainster says:

    That’s reasonable.

  37. WRITER says:

I apologize in advance, I’m sure I’ll incure the wrath of many of this sites visitors. I probably be called everything from Satin to Michelle Malkin herself, I can assure you that I am neither and that I disagree with Ms. Malkin nearly as often as I agree with her.

Posting the info of Ms. Malkin’s family is in no way similar to her posting the personal, but not private, info of the students at UCSC (you’ll not that I haven’t included my full name and contact info because I am conscious of the ramifications of my views and participation here). If they, in fact, intended their press release for a specific audience then they have missed the point of a press release and instead should have sent out a newsletter. A press release is meant to inform the public as a whole, and in many cases, to garner further support. Their miscalculation or misunderstanding of the point of a press release is no one fault but their own. Any one who would harm them for their protest is an idiot just the same.

Also calling Michelle Malkin a hypocrite because she is an anchor baby and blasts current illegals for doing this is also off target. While her views may sit strangely, calling her a hypocrite is tantamount to calling every contemporary American a hypocrite for condemning slavery or the subjugation of native americans. We have all benifited from these scenarios and are no less disgusted by their existence. She can no more move back to where her parent came from and deconstruct the benifits that growing up and being educated in the US than the former slaves who created Liberia could remove the scars of their past and create a peaceful and prosperous homeland. Nor would many of our west coast and southwestern U.S. residents renounce the land taken from Mexico and move back east to right those wrongs. Her mother’s condemnation of illegals would be hypocritical not hers. My family comes from an area in sicily where it is only logical to think that in the not too distant past there were mafiosi in my family and yet there is nothing that I dispise more, yet I don’t consider my hypocrite.

Those are my two sense for the sake of logical dibate as opposed to hateful political name calling. Let target practice begin.

  38. WRITER says:

you are right, however, knowing that there is a risk to these kids and not removing their info is a bit irresponsible.

    unfortunately many people are irresponsible

  39. WRITER says:

and yes i did spell debate wrong

  40. Catrina says:

Oh writer please, get off the Malkin kool-aid pump. She is an Asian Pit Bull used by The Right for The Right to wreck havoc on those whom disagree.

After you get past the reality and truth of what and who she is, you will sleep better at night.

  41. Catrina says:

    WRITER –

She is a Right Wing bomb thrower who possesses “Echo CHamber” ability of only giving half of the story. Again, why would she go on and on about tthe Milwaukee Five but fail to address this:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/13/AR2006041301673.html

For someone who is under contract with Rupert Murdoch, this isn’t exactly being Fair & Balanced…LOL

She is shameful, plain and simple. She should ask God for forgiveness and some direction.

  42. WRITER says:

Apparently you missed the part where I talked about often disagreeing with her. Including not removing the info after learning of the threats. That would put me far from the Kool-aid pump, by the way, a Jonestown comment, how origional… and timely

Yes bloggers such as Malkin and others have a tendancy to portray the story as best serves their purposes, presenting a reason to search around for as many versions of a single story as possible.
Also pointing out that she’s an asian pit-bull as opposed to simply a pit-bull makes you sound like a bigot you would be more effective without the name calling. Again I’m not opposing your viewpoint as much as I am the name calling in place of logical debate, including links to stroies that weaken her position is a better approach.

  43. James says:

Wow. So there are still people out there who actually think Michelle Malkin is an honest, serious “journalist”? That is like saying Hitler was a fantastic caterer to Jewish Bar Mitzvahs.

Malkin is a liar, who has the brain capacity of Grade D meatloaf. I have yet to see any honest, inciteful, factual statement from: her blog, her writings or her horrible book.

One has to question the IQ and intellectual capacity of people who actually think she has a brain. I have posted to her blog many times. Offered to debate her and pointed out how she was dead wrong. And of course, she sent an insulting response which she never posted on her blog.

So I guess that makes her a coward as well.

She is just a trashy dumb whore like her clone sister Trannie Annie Coulter.

  44. WRITER says:

also never called her a journalist, believe i used the word blogger, which would put her under the same constraint as us, namely none. I was simply inspired to write, my first contribution to any blog, because the irrational name calling, on both sides of a debate does nothing for intelligent debate. It villifies (sp?) the people on the other side to the point where as one recent scientific study, forgive but I cannot for the life of me remember who/where it was conducted, found that the reasoning section of the brains of politically convicted people, even when confronted with compeling data by the other side are not activated. Instead we, and I say we because unfortunately I see some of myself in the results, activate the emotional, defensive receptors in the brain. I personally think she has moved beyond rational thought but the response of some who called her “a chink…whose c&#t should be sewn shut with razor wire” seemed somewhat off. Just as the protestors at UCSC said they couldn’t control who joined them and if those people threw rocks, neither can she control her audience. Should she have removed the info after being made aware of the threats against the students, absolutely and so should the websites that support the students because the damage has been done and the violent respondents will seek them out. It is simply a shameful situation all around

  45. Catrina says:

Oh, let me correct myself – I never named her the Asian Pit Bull, that is a name bestowed her by millions in the Asian Community…

    http://goldsea.com/Personalities/Malkin/malkin.html

She has even proudly linked to the article with much glee. She also loves this site –

    http://malkinwatch.blogsome.com/

She is very full of herself to say the least. The more negative the/her publicity the more empowered she is, like most Wingnuts.

  46. Catrina says:

Oh – she is a columnist, as her work is published beyond her silly drama fueled blog.

    http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Michelle_Malkin

  47. Mash says:

    Catrina,

Your comment #45 went into moderation because of the 2 links. My spam filter will put comments with more than 1 link into moderation. Be patient if you do not see your comment right away, as I may be away doing actual work 🙂

  48. Mash says:

WRITER I agree with your last comment. I think reasonable discourse is being squeezed hard almost out of existance here.

I also think it is a nice wink and a nod to say that posting someone’s personal info after there have been death threats is responsible.

Partisan politics is eating up the middle in this country. You cant sustain democracy like this – its headed towards mob rule. Its time that people who have a base of followers take some responsibility to bring civility back into the conversation.

Its easy to incite violence – much harder to contain it afterwards. We blame the mullahs in the Middle East for inciting hate – look at what we are doing.

  49. Catrina says:

And furthermore I am always more concerned about an Unhinged Wingnut as opposed to an Unhinged Moonbats. Moonbats are Left Wing, they are tree huggers, animal lovers, care about the little guyers, enforcers of equality, watchdogs watching the Rethugs whenever and whereever and they love peac and usually hate guns.

Wingnuts on the other hand are usually angry rednecks who love to shoot a gun, use violence in the name of God, i.e., the Eric Rudolf syndrome. They can be dangerous…

When Ann Coulter printed Lydia Cornell’s address a few month’s back the rednecks showed up in Malibu if you catch my drift…

  50. Catrina says:

Michelle Malkin constantly prints email addresses and addresses of many many folks in this big country of ours. You want the discourse to end, tell The Right Wing to cease and desist.

Christie Todd Whitman has said it well – it’s her party too. They have hijacked the GOP and they are ruining the party. It is no longer about less taxes and small government, it has become a party that is concerned about women’s reproductive rights and whether 2 people of the same sex can marry, and about destroying anyone who is opposed to their agaenda, period, i.e., Karl Rove Fever.

Look how they carried on when Bill Clinton was President? They are the danger that is destroying our great country…I am 52 years old and fed up with them and being force fed their idealogoly on a daily basis.

I have to really laugh, they are now so concerned about 1st Amendment Rights. In the ’80’s they could have cared less. They wanted to censor everyone from Howard Stern to Madonna.

Michelle Malkin & Ben Domenech and the rest of these young Conservatives haven’t a clue. They should be made to attend high school as it was in the late ’60’s like my generation did.

They would be calling for David Horwitz to be silenced….
